Avatar Generator

Type a seed, get a deterministic 5x5 pixel identicon plus an initials avatar. PNG export.

Identicon (5x5, mirrored)

Initials avatar

Same seed always renders the same avatar. Everything is drawn on canvas in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Type any text into the seed field: a username, an email prefix, an order ID.
  2. Click Generate. The left canvas shows a 5x5 mirrored pixel pattern; the right shows a circle with the seed initials.
  3. Change the seed and generate again - one character of difference produces a completely different picture.
  4. Click either Download PNG button to save that avatar at its native size.

Common use cases

Why it stays private

The seed is hashed and fed to a deterministic random sequence entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent, stored or logged, so a seed can be a real username, email or internal ID without it ever leaving the page.

FAQ

Q: Will the same seed always produce the same avatar? A: Yes. The picture is derived from a hash of the seed through a fixed algorithm, so it is reproducible across visits and browsers as long as the implementation stays the same.

Q: Can two different seeds produce the same avatar? A: In principle yes, because the hash space is finite, but the 5x5 mirrored layout and color choice make accidental collisions uncommon. For a profile system the seed itself stays unique, which is what matters.

Q: Are these avatars suitable as a security indicator? A: No. They are a visual fingerprint for humans, not a proof of identity. Anyone can reproduce an identicon from a known seed, so treat them as decoration and verify users through real authentication.

Your data stays on this device

Avatar Generator runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.

Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
