Event Countdown
Track days remaining or days gone for birthdays, launches and yearly anniversaries.
No events yet. Add one above and the countdown starts immediately.
Yearly events show the days until the next anniversary and the days since the last one.
Events are stored in this browser only and never uploaded.
How to use it
- Type an event name, pick a date, and turn on Repeat every year for birthdays and anniversaries.
- Press Add event. The list sorts itself with the nearest event first.
- Each row shows the days remaining, or the days already gone for one-time events in the past.
- Yearly events show both counts: days until the next anniversary and days since the last one.
- Turn on Count down to the second for an hours, minutes and seconds readout. Events are saved in this browser; Remove deletes one and Clear removes all.
Common use cases
- Birthdays and anniversaries: one yearly entry keeps counting without editing it each year.
- Launches and deadlines: a plain date shows how many days are left at a glance.
- Travel and renewals: visa dates, subscription renewals and contract end dates in one list.
- Looking back: past one-time events keep showing how many days have gone by.
Why it stays private
Events are stored with the browser localStorage API on your own device and are never uploaded anywhere: there is no server side and no network request in this tool. Clearing your browser data removes the list, and the Clear button does the same on demand. One honest caveat: localStorage is per browser and per device, so events do not sync between your phone and your laptop.
FAQ
Q: How does the yearly repeat work? A: The date keeps its month and day while the year moves on its own, so a birthday entered once keeps counting every year, including leap-day dates.
Q: What do yearly events show exactly? A: Days until the next anniversary as the main number, plus the days since the last one underneath. On the anniversary day itself the main number reads Today.
Q: Where are my events stored? A: In this browser only, through localStorage. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing the list or your browser data deletes them for good.
Your data stays on this device
Event Countdown runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
