Image Blur
Blur any image in your browser with an adjustable radius slider.
Blurring runs on a canvas in your browser. The image never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Choose an image up to 10MB - JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Drag the blur radius slider - the preview updates as you drag.
- Need a stronger effect? Push the radius toward 30px; set it to 0 to compare with the original.
- Click Download to save the blurred image in the same format as the source.
Common use cases
- Hiding details - blur faces, plates, names or account numbers before sharing a screenshot.
- Softening backgrounds - push a busy background back so the subject stands out.
- Mockups and drafts - de-emphasize parts of a design while you collect feedback.
Why it stays private
The blur is drawn on a canvas element inside your browser tab. Your file is read through a local object URL and never sent anywhere, so screenshots with personal data stay on your machine.
FAQ
Q: Does the blur follow the shape of objects in the photo? A: No. It is a uniform blur across the whole image. To blur only part of a photo, crop that region first, blur it, then paste it back.
Q: Why are the edges of the blurred image faded? A: A blur samples pixels around each point, and at the border there are none. If you need solid edges, add a few pixels of border or place the image on a similar-colored background.
Q: Which formats can I download? A: The result keeps the format of the file you picked - PNG, JPEG or WebP. PNG is used when the source format is unknown.
Your data stays on this device
Image Blur runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
