Image Border
Add a solid or dashed border to any image in your browser.
The frame is drawn on a canvas in your browser and saved as PNG. The image never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Choose an image up to 10MB - JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Set the border width in pixels and pick a color.
- Drag the corner radius slider - the preview updates as you drag.
- Pick solid or dashed in the line style menu.
- Click Download to save the framed image as a PNG.
Common use cases
- Consistent decks - give a set of screenshots the same frame so a tutorial or report looks tidy.
- Making subjects pop - wrap a pale image in a dark frame so it stands out on a light page.
- Marking a region - a dashed frame reads as "illustrative area" in documentation.
Why it stays private
The frame is drawn on a canvas element inside your browser tab. Your file is read through a local object URL and never sent anywhere, so nothing about your image reaches a server.
FAQ
Q: Why is my JPEG saved as a PNG? A: PNG keeps the area outside a rounded border transparent and avoids re-compressing the photo a second time. The download link always ends in .png.
Q: Can I combine dashed lines with rounded corners? A: Yes. The dash pattern follows the rounded outline, so the corners stay smooth.
Q: Is there a size limit? A: Files up to 10MB are accepted, and the canvas grows by the border width on every side. Very wide borders on very large photos can hit browser canvas limits - lower the width if that happens.
Your data stays on this device
Image Border runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
