Image Splitter
Split any image into a rows-by-columns grid and download every tile as a separate PNG.
Tiles
Slicing runs in your browser. The image never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Choose an image file — it stays on your device.
- Set the number of rows and columns (1 to 10 each, up to 100 tiles in total), or click the 3x3 preset for a nine-grid.
- Click Split. Each tile is previewed with its own download button.
- Save the tiles you need; the naming is
name_r2c3.pngfor row 2, column 3.
Common use cases
- Social media grids — slice a wide panorama into a 3x3 grid that reads as one image in a feed.
- Sprite and tile sheets — cut evenly sized cells for game assets or pattern repeats.
- Long screenshots — break a tall capture into readable chunks for chat and docs.
- Printing and contact sheets — split a scan into equal parts before cropping further.
Why it stays private
The image is decoded into a canvas inside this page and each tile is encoded from that canvas. Nothing is uploaded, so private photos, ID scans and internal screenshots never leave your device.
FAQ
Q: Are the tiles exactly equal in size? A: Tiles are even splits of the pixel width and height. When the image size is not a multiple of the grid, the last row or column is a few pixels narrower — no blank bands are added.
Q: Why is there a cap of 100 tiles? A: Every tile becomes a separate PNG in memory at once. The cap keeps the page responsive on phones and older laptops.
Q: Can I export the tiles as JPEG? A: Tiles are PNG so transparency and exact pixels survive the cut. Convert them afterwards if you need smaller JPEG files.
Your data stays on this device
Image Splitter runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
