How to use it

  1. Choose the direction: Text -> Morse to encode, Morse -> Text to decode.
  2. Type or paste your input. For decoding, letters are separated by spaces and words by a slash (/).
  3. Click Convert (or just keep typing) and read the result in the output panel.
  4. Use Copy or Download to take the result with you.
  5. Open the collapsible International Morse code chart at the bottom to look any symbol up.

Common use cases

Why it stays private

Encoding and decoding happen entirely in your browser's memory. Nothing is uploaded, no account is needed, and no network request is made, so your messages never leave your device.

FAQ

Q: Which characters can be encoded? A: The 26 letters, the digits 0-9, and common punctuation including period, comma, question mark, exclamation mark, hyphen, slash, parentheses, ampersand, colon, semicolon, equals, plus, underscore, quotation marks, apostrophe and at sign. Anything else is reported as an error rather than silently dropped.

Q: How are words separated? A: By a slash with spaces around it: ... --- ... / ... --- ... reads as "SOS SOS". When decoding, the converter accepts slashes with or without surrounding spaces.

Q: Is the timing (dot duration, gaps) handled? A: No. This tool works on the written form of Morse code only. It converts between text and dot-dash notation; actual on-air timing is a separate skill.

Your data stays on this device

Morse Code runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.

Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
