Pomodoro Timer
Classic Pomodoro cycles: 25 minute focus blocks, short breaks and a long break every fourth round.

Focus round {n} of {total}
The classic cycle: after every fourth focus block the timer moves into the long break on its own.
How to use it
- Set the three session lengths in minutes: focus, short break and long break. The defaults are the classic 25 / 5 / 15.
- Press Start. The ring fills as the block runs, and the label under the clock shows the active phase.
- The same button pauses and resumes. Reset returns to the first focus block and sets the round counter back to zero.
- A short beep marks every phase change. After four focus blocks the timer moves into the long break on its own.
- Keep the tab in the foreground if you rely on the beep: browsers throttle timers in background tabs.
Common use cases
- Study or writing blocks: 25 focused minutes with a guaranteed break, so a long task feels finite.
- Meeting-heavy days: a fixed cycle that forces real pauses instead of back-to-back calls.
- Team sessions: run the same cycle on a shared screen so everyone breaks together.
- Habit building: the round counter shows how many focus blocks you have finished.
Why it stays private
The whole cycle runs in your browser: no network requests and nothing is stored, so the timer works offline and no detail of your session leaves the device. One honest caveat: browsers throttle timers in background tabs, so a beep can arrive late. Keep the tab visible for phase-accurate alerts.
FAQ
Q: How is this different from the countdown timer on this site? A: The countdown timer runs a single countdown to zero. This tool runs a work method: it chains focus blocks and breaks together, counts rounds and starts the long break automatically after every fourth focus block.
Q: What happens when a phase ends? A: A short beep plays, the phase label switches and the next phase starts on its own. Nothing is stored, so closing the tab ends the cycle.
Q: Can I change the session lengths? A: Yes. Focus, short break and long break are all editable in minutes, and a change applies the next time that phase starts.
Your data stays on this device
Pomodoro Timer runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
