Column Processor

Extract and recombine columns from CSV, TSV or aligned text with a chosen delimiter.

How to use it

  1. Paste rows of delimited text into the input panel.
  2. The input delimiter is auto-detected from the first non-blank line; override it when your data mixes delimiters.
  3. Enter the columns to keep as 1-based numbers: 1,3 keeps the first and third column, 2-4 keeps a range.
  4. Choose the output delimiter and switch on quoting when fields may contain it.
  5. Click Extract columns. The status line reports how many rows had fewer columns than requested; those cells stay empty.

Common use cases

Why it stays private

Splitting and joining happen in your browser. Exports with customer rows, addresses or order data never leave the device.

FAQ

Q: Does it understand quoted CSV fields? A: Not for parsing - fields are split on the delimiter, so quotes stay in the value. Quoting only applies to output, when a field contains the output delimiter.

Q: What happens to rows with fewer columns? A: Missing cells are kept empty and counted in the status line, so nothing is silently dropped.

Q: Can I reorder columns? A: Yes. List the column numbers in any order, for example 3,1, and the output follows that order.

Your data stays on this device

Column Processor runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.

Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
