0How to use it
- Paste any text into the input panel - logs, email threads, exports, meeting notes.
- Click Extract; all five categories fill at once with a hit count per type.
- Each card lists deduplicated matches in the order they first appear.
- Use the Copy button on a card to take just that category.
- Results update as you edit the input, and Clear resets everything.
Common use cases
- Mining contact lists - collect every email address from a long thread without reading it line by line.
- Triaging logs - pull out URLs and IP addresses from server or firewall logs in seconds.
- Auditing documents - see which phone numbers and IDs appear in a contract or export before sharing it.
- Cleaning up notes - gather scattered numbers, links and addresses into one place.
Why it stays private
All matching runs locally with regular expressions in your browser's memory. Pasted text often contains personal data, and none of it ever leaves your device.
FAQ
Q: How are phone numbers recognized? A: Two shapes: hyphenated like 1xx-xxxx-xxxx and plain 11-digit numbers starting with 1[3-9]. Both are boundary-checked so digits inside longer runs are ignored, and duplicates are merged by their digits only.
Q: Are all IPv4-looking matches accepted? A: No. Each octet is checked against the 0-255 range, and matches touching other digits or dots are rejected, so 999.1.1.1 or a version string fragment will not slip in.
Q: Why do numbers include values from URLs and dates? A: The number pass reads the whole text, so 3.14, timestamps and path segments all count. Copy per category and delete what you do not need.
Your data stays on this device
Text Extractor runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
