How to use it
- Paste English prose into the input panel - an article, essay, docs page or product copy.
- Scores update as you type, or press Analyze.
- Read Flesch Reading Ease (higher is easier) and the Flesch-Kincaid grade (the US school grade it matches).

- Follow the Suggestions list, then copy the report if you want to share the numbers.
Common use cases
- Editing before publishing - shorten dense paragraphs before a post goes live.
- Student assignments - check whether a draft matches the reading level the assignment asks for.
- Docs and help centers - spot sentence creep in instructions that grew over many edits.
- Comparing revisions - re-run an old draft and a new one and watch the score move.
Why it stays private
All counting, syllable estimation and scoring run in your browser. Unpublished drafts and client documents never leave your device.
FAQ
Q: How accurate are the scores? A: They are heuristic estimates. Syllables are counted with a vowel-group rule, so proper names and unusual words can shift the score by a point or two. This is not a linguist level analysis.
Q: Does it work on languages other than English? A: The formulas were designed for English, and the syllable counter is English only. Running them on other languages gives numbers that are not meaningful.
Q: How does the passive voice check work? A: It looks for a form of be or get followed by a word that ends in ed or en, plus a small list of common irregular participles. It is a simple heuristic: some matches are adjectives, and some passives use patterns it misses.
