Upside Down Text
Flip text upside down with Unicode character mapping, then copy it anywhere, offline.
Characters without an upside-down form (CJK, emoji, rare symbols) are kept as-is.
How to use it
- Type or paste text into the left panel; the flipped result appears on the right as you type.
- The order of characters is reversed first, then each character is mapped to its upside-down Unicode glyph.
- Press Copy to take the flipped text to chat, a bio or a comment box.
- The status line reports the character count and how many characters had no upside-down form and were kept as-is.
Common use cases
- Social bios and usernames - write a handle or tagline that reads flipped when others tilt their heads.
- Puzzles and games - build upside-down clues for party games or classroom activities.
- Fun signatures - end a message with a flipped flourish without installing anything.
- Checking glyph coverage - see which characters your fonts can render upside down before committing to a design.
Why it stays private
Flipping is a local character-table lookup in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the tool keeps no history, so drafts stay on your device.
FAQ
Q: Why did my Chinese characters or emoji stay unchanged? A: The mapping table covers common Latin letters, digits and punctuation. Characters without an upside-down form, including CJK text and emoji, pass through unchanged and are counted in the status line rather than being dropped.
Q: Is the flipped text a font effect? A: No. It is real Unicode characters, so it survives copy-paste into most apps. Some platforms or fonts may render a few glyphs differently or not at all, which is why the honest character count is shown.
Q: Can I flip text that is already upside down to restore it? A: Yes. Running the same mapping twice restores characters that appear in the table, because the order reverses back too. Characters kept as-is on the first pass are still intact.
Your data stays on this device
Upside Down Text runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.
Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
