What Gamma is
Gamma takes a description, an outline, or material you already have and returns a presentation, a document, or a page, with the layout and images chosen for you instead of being placed by hand.
It has spread well past slides into documents, simple hosted sites, social formats, and graphics, with a way to generate programmatically. The audiences it names are educators, sales teams, marketers, and consultants, and workspaces come in two kinds, one for individuals and one for teams.
What you can do with it
Give it an idea, paste an outline, or import a file and a finished-looking draft with visuals comes back. That is the point of it: the empty page is gone and something editable exists straight away.
Editing brings in layouts and extra content, translates what is written, and creates or reworks pictures, while a group can sit in one file together.
What it makes can be exported to the usual presentation and document formats, published as a site, or handed over as a link, and behaviour on shared items is measured. Generation works across several dozen languages, and themes decide how things look.
Who it is for
Consultants writing proposals are one group, and so are marketing and sales teams who need something presentable without a designer.
Educators assembling teaching material fit as well, and founders who need a deck by the end of the afternoon are plainly part of the intended audience.
Teams without a designer on staff, who still have to produce something presentable every week, are the situation it answers most directly. Anyone who has opened an empty slide and stalled will recognise the problem it removes.
What to watch out for
The training policy depends on which workspace you are in, and it is the detail on the site that matters most. Shared and business plans are left out of model training, while a single-person plan lets what you write feed training unless you switch the option off in your account. Anybody loading client files or unreleased plans into a plan of their own should check that switch first.
Everything it produces arrives looking designed, which is both the benefit and the exposure. A deck made this way reads as if a person picked what belongs in it, and the scrutiny applied while someone lays slides out by hand is skipped, since the outcome already looks complete.
Publishing something as a site and sending a link makes sharing easy, and the tracking that comes with it measures what the audience does. That is unremarkable for a marketing page, and it is worth holding in mind when the link goes out to a client.
The user numbers and the count of models are the vendor's own. Generating through more than one model means what comes out shifts with the model picked, and a shared file keeps no note of which one produced it.
Pros & cons
✓ What we like
- A full draft with visuals arrives from an idea, an outline, or an imported file, so the blank page is gone.
- Output is not limited to slides: documents, hosted pages, social formats, and graphics all come out of it.
- Several people can edit one file at once, and finished work exports to the usual formats.
! What to watch out for
- Individual workspaces permit content to feed model training unless the account setting is changed.
- Work that already looks finished skips the review a hand-built deck would get, and nothing records which model produced what.
FAQ
Is my content used for training?
That depends on the workspace. Team and Business plans are excluded; individual plans allow it unless the setting in the account is switched off.
Can I get it out as a PowerPoint or PDF?
Yes. Output exports to the standard presentation and document formats, or can be published as a page and shared by link.
Does sharing a link track the reader?
Engagement on shared items is measured, which is ordinary for marketing material and worth knowing before sending one to a client.
